Happy Friday! Are you in a sugar coma from all the Halloween candy you ate while passing it out? I have enjoyed seeing some of your costumes from last night. Today, I will be taking down all of my pictures on my walls because the painters are coming on Monday. We signed a contract with them in April, and now their outside work is done, so it is time to paint the inside of our house. We have lived here for 12 years in December. While I love the choices of the colors the lady of the house chose before us, it is time for a change to better reflect my personal style and preferences. I am a neutral girl for the “base” of the house, and I add in color as the seasons change, allowing my home to adapt to the different moods and festivities throughout the year. I also love a traditional home, not jumping on the trend bandwagon, believing that classic decor withstands the test of time and can always feel fresh with the right accents. The lady before us painted the ceilings to match the wall color. It’s pretty, but I want white ceilings to brighten things up a bit. The walls now are neutral but color-blocked in different areas, which has its charm. It’s subtle, but I want one color scheme in the living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallway to unify the rooms. We live in an open-concept house, so you see all those rooms as you walk in the front door, making a cohesive look essential for a welcoming atmosphere. Hopefully, I will have before and after pictures next Friday to show you the transformation that takes place. It will be a slight change, but I think it will be beautiful and refreshing. I can’t wait to have fresh painted walls and ceilings just in time for Thanksgiving. What are your plans this weekend? I hope you have the best time, whatever you are doing, and maybe even find a moment to enjoy the beauty of autumn.
