This week, while volunteering at MomCo, I listened to a speaker reminding us all to rest in the chaos that often accompanies the holiday season. December is notoriously busy, filled with endless to-do lists and commitments, so yesterday I decided to embrace a slower pace by staying in my jammies and indulging in some painting. Glorious! As I let my creativity flow, I worked on various items, even though I am not entirely sure what I will do with them yet. The inspiration hit so I went for it.

This is the scene that I woke up to. I do not regret choosing to paint instead of finishing chores.

Today, as I knock off my to-do list, I know I will feel grateful for the time spent yesterday painting. Now, my mind will feel rested, ready to tackle the tasks ahead with a fresh outlook and inspiration drawn from my artistic endeavor.
