Let’s talk about a gallery wall. Are you a one-picture person or a bunch-of-pictures person? I love lots of pictures, so it is gallery walls all the time for me. I don’t follow the trends; I prefer to curate my collection based on personal significance. I am a traditional girl in my beliefs about everything, and so when it comes to my house, tradition it is. I usually choose items and pictures that have meaning to me. For instance, the violin in the picture was a gift to me from my grandma. It belonged to her stepdad, my great step-grandfather. If you will notice, the toy ambulance on top of the old window was my dad’s, given to me by my mom because I had the boys to pass it down to. The pheasant is a painting/drawing by me that I finished just this fall. A picture of Jesus bought from an estate sale. A picture of Lincoln, my dad’s navy picture, a picture of my Mom’s family etc. You get the drift. Lots of things that hold meaning to me, reminding me of where I come from and the bonds that shape my life.

This is a different kind of gallery wall. It is at my mom’s house, a place filled with warmth and creativity. This wall is a showcase of all her cross-stitch pictures that she has sewn over the years, each piece telling a unique story and reflecting her passion for this beautiful art form. The colors and patterns blend harmoniously, inviting admiration, as each stitch represents countless hours of dedication and love.
