It’s another snow day here. Schools are closed, and the streets are blanketed in a thick layer of shimmering white. We definitely are living in a winter wonderland. If only we could give some of it to California; the devastation there is unbelievable, as you know, with the wildfires taking out entire communities. My prayers are for the safety of the people impacted by these tragedies. Yesterday was the first day I got out and about since Saturday. The roads in the village where I live haven’t been clear enough for me to venture out. I had a lot to accomplish, one of which was taking down Christmas decorations in our antique booth. I rearranged and added new items, still keeping winter themes up. I’m not ready to bring in spring quite yet. I love working in that little booth of ours; it feels like a creative outlet that brightens my days. It’s like having a small store without the headache of being there all the time. Our booth is fifty-fifty, fifty percent new and fifty percent old. Just how we like it, marrying old with the new in all our homes. While rearranging, I placed my nieces’ collection of mushroom canisters, cups etc. front and center, and by the end of the day, they all sold! How about that? Now to get there and change things up again. So fun! I did add some handmade banners for sale with cheerful messages like Happy Winter, Happy Heart Day, Happy Birthday, and Welcome Baby. They were fun to make and helped kill some time after the Christmas festivities. I also took in an old typewriter that would be lovely as a decorative piece in anyone’s home. And then there was a loop of rusty wire (I’m calling it a wire wreath because it does look so cool on a wall). I also added an outdoorsy mirror adorned with pine trees and those original dog pictures that I painted a while back. When I left, I felt happy because everything looked new and fresh.
