Hello, friend. What a great start to the week! It is going to be fifty degrees here today. Hallelujah! Over the weekend, I finished two books. I’m not sure if I would recommend them, but I do have something to say about them.
WHAT I READ…Being Henry The Fonz…and Beyond by Henry Winkler. I don’t know if you know it, but Mr. Winkler is dyslexic. I didn’t know it. This book is a tell-all about growing up feeling inadequate, put in place by his parents. He does encourage the person growing up with a disability that they can become something far greater than their label. I like that. I always cheer for the underdog. But that foul language periodically in the book is unnecessary.

The next book I finished was a book by Crystal Hefner, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself. First of all, I think the whole Playboy franchise is disgusting. I also think that Hugh Hefner was the most evil man to pursue women like he did. It wasn’t sexual liberation; it was prostitution. My curiosity was piqued by the Only Say Good Things part of the title. I wondered why a young lady would want to be a part of something so horrific and harmful to their self-worth. In Crystal’s case, abuse was the beginning of her experience to long for more abuse by living in the mansion. Why in the world would anyone think it was prestigious to sell one’s body for trashy accolades is beyond me. It is sad to me that young girls grow up to not think more of themselves and to think this is a way to stardom. The whole thing is sick. Crystal does understand these things in the end. I hope she continues to search for the real love, which is God.

WHAT I HAVE BEEN WATCHING…When Calls the Heart: A wholesome flick about the times of yesteryear.
WHAT I HAVE BEEN MAKING… cute sit-around items for my booth.

Using vintage items, paper clay, and paint, these will be a good addition to my booth, and hopefully create add-on sales.
WHAT I AM COOKING… I made a list of some things I want to cook this week. Monday: chicken stir-fry, Tuesday: sloppy joes, and Wednesday: ham, eggs, and toast. That’s as far as I got. Do you have any suggestions for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday?
As always, I’m glad you’re here.
Wishing you the best Monday,
Amy
