Hello friend. Remember my rabbit debacle? The one where I was supposed to show it to you last Wednesday, but it was so awful I threw it away. In the trash. Well, I have good news. I made a new rabbit. I formed it out of tin foil. I covered it in paper clay three times to make sure the head was good and not lop-sided. I sanded it. I painted it. I glued it on a pedestal. I took a curtain my niece gave me, cut it up, and attached it to the rabbit so it wouldn’t look like a severed head (comment from my eldest son). I then added a bright, springy pink ribbon around its neck. Now I have a custom rabbit that will be cute on a table for spring or for a fancy dinner. Because my husband said it looked like leftovers from a fancy restaurant when it was in the tin foil stage. So here you have it, what you have been waiting for with the greatest anticipation. Que the music. Tada!

I think I have decided to keep to the smaller clay things that I make.
On a different subject. My friend and I went thrifting yesterday. There were so many good things in one spot. That almost never happens. We spent two hours and fifteen minutes (according to her Life360) in one spot. We dug and dug and found so many treasures for our booths. She dug more than I did and look what she uncovered.

The coolest watercolor pans I have ever seen. Isn’t the one with the children’s faces just delightful? These are for me. Not for resale. They are going to go on a shelf in my studio. We also found this.

I took a picture right away and sent it to my sister. One of us had this costume when we were little. You know the ones with the plastic clothing that tied in the back. The ones mothers all over the country would make their children wear a winter coat over the top because Halloween was always cold. And you never kept on the mask, you would just put it on top of your head because you never could see out the eye holes to see where you were going. And your saliva would create condensation inside the mask every time you would say “trick or treat,” making your face itch. So I’m not sure why we wore costumes at all, but I do love remembering the memory of it all.
Well, we have made it half way through. Not that I’m wishing my life away. Just making a point. So happy Wednesday to you!
As always I’m so glad you’re here.
Best,
Amy
