Hello Friend. Today is Friday, and school is back in session after a long and unexpected break. School was canceled on Monday because of Presidents Day, which gave us a three-day weekend to rest and enjoy some time off. Then, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the school was closed again. The closure was due to dangerous temperatures and snow-covered roads. These conditions made it unsafe for students and staff to travel. The heavy snowfall created a beautiful winter landscape, but it also caused significant disruptions. When this happens, the places I volunteer close down too, which means I missed out on the chance to help. It has made for an interesting week. The week was filled with unexpected changes and opportunities to stay cozy at home. I look forward to getting back to my routine next week.
If you follow me in stories, you will see some little paintings that I have done recently. Each one represents an interpretation of a word starting with a different letter of the alphabet. Remember, I decided to paint a piece that begins with every letter of the alphabet as a fun creative challenge. I have only gotten to the letter O so far, but I am happy with them and excited to see how the rest of the project unfolds.

The grapes and the jelly are a nod to my Grandma Bea, who was beloved by our entire family. She made the best grape jelly from her grapes that I have ever tasted, with each jar bursting with the rich, natural sweetness of her homegrown fruit. One year she asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and without hesitation, I said her grape jelly. And that’s what I got—a wrapped jar that I could hardly wait to open.
Today I am working at Dogwood Vintiques. I occasionally work there to help out. I offer my time in exchange for the rent of my booth. This arrangement allows me to showcase my own collection of curated treasures. I truly enjoy working in such a vibrant atmosphere. I love seeing the different items that people purchase. These range from vintage trinkets to handcrafted pieces that tell unique stories. When I make my rounds today, I will post on stories. You can see all the neat items people have in their booths. It’s always exciting to discover hidden gems that catch my eye. There is a lot of spring displayed with pastel colors. Floral motifs brighten the space. With all this snow we have received, I am more than ready for the warmth. I am eager for the renewal that spring brings.
As always I’m glad you’re here.
Have a great weekend,
Best,
Amy
