Hello and good morning. Did you have a good weekend? It was rainy and cold here. Sunday evening, a bunch of lady youth sponsors from my church and I hosted a dinner for some teenage girls. We had 9 girls attend, from freshmen in high school to seniors. Our friend opened her home and organized the whole dinner. Every sponsor had jobs to do. Some fixed appetizers, while others went grocery shopping and cooked the main meal. Others were responsible for buying items for the goodie bags. Additionally, one sponsor wrote a devotion and discussion questions. Others led the craft and the cookie decorating. Thank you, Dana, Elizabeth, Alpha, Shelly, Kellie, and Amanda for all your work. I think it was a success.

I have been sharing with you about the neighbors I grew up with. Today I thought I would talk about the Darling house. The Darling couple were elderly when my family moved to the neighborhood. I really don’t know much about them as I was small. I do remember Mrs. Darling complimenting my mom on how she dressed my sister and me. My sister and I always had nice clothes; my parents provided well for us. But I am sure when Mrs. Darling saw my sister and me that we were in our play clothes while we rode our big wheels up and down the sidewalk. I also remember standing in the living room of their quaint home receiving treats on Halloween. I wonder now how long they lived on that street. What did they do for work before retiring? What did they think of the changing neighbors? And what about the new family that would stay longer than they did? I do know that I love that name Darling, and I always thought their house was darling.

As always I’m glad you’re here,
Best,
Amy
