Hello Friend! Sorry I wasn’t around on Monday, I’ve been under the weather. Today, with the help of some much-needed medicine and a little bit of rest, I’m feeling a bit better and ready to catch up on everything I missed. I hope you had a great weekend filled with exciting estate sales and garage sales. Hopefully, you found hidden treasures, perhaps some unique pieces to add to your collection. I also hope you enjoyed some quality time painting, letting your creative juices flow as you brought new colors to life on canvas.

It’s April 30th, a beautiful day that marks thirty-one years since I married Mr. Handsome, the love of my life. Happy Anniversary, Mr. Handsome! On this special day, I reflect on the incredible gift that God bestowed upon me in the form of a husband who truly feels like a dream come true; I couldn’t ask for more love, support, and laughter. While we are not doing anything special today due to my illness, I still find joy in the little things. I have requested chicken strips with honey mustard and mashed potatoes with gravy. These comfort foods may seem simple, but they bring me happiness and remind me how not hard I am to please when surrounded by love, especially on a day that celebrates our lasting bond. As I rest, I cherish the beautiful memories we’ve built together over the years, each one a treasure that enriches our shared journey.

My mother-in-law recently gave me a quilt. I loved it as soon as I saw it. Its vibrant reds contrasted beautifully with the green of the new couch that Mr. Handsome bought me for Christmas. It is a treasure made by my mother-in-law’s mom. She crafted it by hand from dresses and shirts that she originally made for all her children. Each piece tells its own story. This quilt is a cherished family heirloom. It was hand sewn and later machine sewn. The transition happened when my mother-in-law’s mom received a sewing machine. My mother-in-law can remember some of the clothes that she and her siblings wore, which are now intricately stitched into the quilt’s patterns. I think this is an amazing gift—one that will be cherished for a lifetime. It is a beautiful piece that will undoubtedly be passed down to future generations.

I hope you have a swell day. As always, I’m glad you’re here.

Best,

Amy
