Happy Memorial Day (to my U.S.) friends and Happy Monday to everyone. Such perfect timing to celebrate Memorial Day since we just got back from our Washington D.C. trip and went to Arlington, where we had the opportunity to pay our respects at the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. It was a poignant experience, allowing us to reflect on the sacrifices made by countless heroes who have defended our freedom. As we honor their memory today, I am reminded of the importance of gratitude and remembrance, and I hope this special day brings us all closer together as we celebrate the spirit of courage and patriotism that defines our nation.

We are thankful for all the service men and women who gave their lives so we can be free, bravely standing on the front lines to protect the values and freedoms we hold dear. Their sacrifice is a poignant reminder of the cost of liberty and the price that many have paid to ensure our safety. We are also thankful for those families who still grieve their loved ones because they never came home, enduring an ongoing heartache that words can scarcely convey. The memory of their sacrifice lives on in the hearts of their families, reminding us all of the profound courage and commitment displayed in service to our country. It is essential to honor their legacy not just in words, but through our actions, fostering a world where their sacrifices were not in vain.
Memorial Day is also the unofficial start of summer, marking a time of celebration and outdoor gatherings that many look forward to all year long. The swimming pools open up on this day in our area, inviting families and friends to enjoy the warm sunshine and refreshing water, creating a joyful atmosphere filled with laughter and splashes. However, I can’t even imagine swimming today as it is chilly, with the cool breeze and overcast skies making it feel more like late spring than the beginning of summer. People gather on this day for barbeques and family gatherings, sharing delicious food and stories while enjoying each other’s company. Not us this year, though. We are tired after an eventful week. Yesterday, we had a party for Max as he graduated high school before we went on our trip. We had such a great turnout of family and friends. It was such a good day and my heart is bursting with joy at all the kind people who showed up to celebrate Max. Their presence made the occasion even more special, reminding us of the wonderful support system we have as we look forward to this next chapter in his life.

Max
As always I’m glad you’re here.
Best,
Amy
