Hello Friend! Not a lot to tell you, but the basic staying inside because of the heat. I’m sure if you’re from the Midwest, that’s your story too; the rising temperatures have made outdoor activities quite challenging. Let’s see, we are having family over this evening for a postponed birthday celebration for Max, which we’re all looking forward to. So I have been doing a little extra in the chore category to ensure everything is perfect for their visit. You know the same things you do when getting ready for company, like wash the rugs, pick up the clutter, dust all the surfaces, and make sure to wash every flat surface. Additionally, I’ve made it a point to add new, fresh throwaway hand towels in the bathrooms. It feels good to prepare for a family get-together, even if it means working a bit harder.

Yesterday, I put some paintings up on Etsy. If you haven’t checked out my Etsy shop yet, go take a look. I think you will like what you see. @7frecklesbyAmy.
Remember this from a few weeks ago? Every little bit of free time I add something to this tea towel, letting my creativity flow freely as I choose different colors and patterns to stitch into its fabric. I like the free form of it; there’s an exhilarating sense of freedom when I allow myself to deviate from standard designs and let my imagination take the lead. Is it perfect? No, but that’s the beauty of it. It is fun to sew without a pattern, embracing the process.

Some critters have been digging in my plant. It’s either a frog or a squirrel, but given the extent of the mess they’ve created, I’m quite certain it’s a squirrel. These little creatures are notorious for their relentless foraging, and I suspect they are busy preparing for the winter ahead. What they don’t know is that this planter comes inside when the temperatures start to drop. I often wonder if they realize their efforts are in vain. Perhaps, in their busy little minds, they believe that this spot will provide them with the bounty they seek, unaware that their prized digging ground will be packed away in the winter months.

I wish you a wonderful Wednesday, full of wonder and the blessing of air conditioning.
Best,
Amy
