Good morning friend! How have you been? I had an amazing week in Tennessee with the youth group at a camp called Generate, which truly turned out to be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. I was with five other youth sponsors, two guys and three ladies, along with our enthusiastic youth minister, and together we comprised a tight-knit team, each person contributing their unique strengths and insights. There were 17 students on this adventure, eight boys and ten girls, and we had a blast the whole time we were there and on the lengthy ride home. On the way there, we encountered a horrible wreck involving two semi trucks and a small car that left the traffic on the highway at a standstill for three hours. Although this was a frustrating delay, we took the opportunity to bond and share stories, which eventually turned the situation into a memorable part of our journey. While we were at Generate, we made a difference by serving at two local thrift stores; we sorted clothes that were tagged to be sold, while some were set aside to be given away to those in need. Some of our team even dedicated their time to paint rooms at the other thrift store and to sort through various clothing items. One day, we also worked on the campus where we were staying, cleaning up the dorm room showers and hanging new shower liners to prepare them for the upcoming students who would soon arrive. Generate didn’t let us rest for long; we had only one hour and thirty minutes of free time each day, and even during that short break, there were plenty of activities to engage in, such as games, bracelet-making, bookmark crafting, and swimming, all fostering a spirit of camaraderie among the students. The worship sessions at night were electric, featuring the band Hooten, whose music filled the air with excitement, supplemented by powerful preaching that resonated deeply with everyone present. The discussions with our youth group were rich and thought-provoking, sparking numerous questions that even stumped some of our seasoned leaders, making for enlightening conversations. Curfew was at eleven thirty, but that didn’t stop many students from staying up until three in the morning, sharing laughter and stories, and by the time morning rolled around, it was time to get up once again because breakfast was served from six thirty to eight. As a result, we were often tired, but the joyful exhaustion was worth it. We even stayed an extra day, allowing some students to hike through the scenic trails while others splashed around and played in a nearby creek catching crawdads. It was a delightful experience soaking up God’s nature, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. I forgot to mention while at Generate some of our students, youth minister, and Cailin-a sponsor danced to Rocky Top wearing cow costumes and a goat costume in a sort of talent show. It was a hoot and every one loved it.

Back to work…Many items sold in my booth while I was gone. I am taking these Items today to fill in the spots.

I hope you have the best day.

Best,

Amy
