Hello Friend! There are 17 days left till Christmas, and the excitement is palpable. Are you feeling the craziness of the season, or are you managing to take it each day by day? I guess it truly is what you make it! This time of year brings its own unique joy, but we don’t have many obligations pulling us in different directions like we used to. Our guys are all grown up now, so there are no longer Christmas plays or school parties to attend. Mr. Handsome works for a company in a city far away so there is not a work party. While I have a youth group party and a MomCo gathering to attend both scheduled on the usual days, so there’s nothing particularly extra that adds to the craziness. I’ve been shopping all year long, so there’s not much left on my to-do list, except wrap presents.
This weekend I made some Santas, embracing the festive spirit of the season. This time I decided to make Mrs. Claus to add to the mix. Usually, their bodies are made out of vintage tins, which provide a unique character. Mrs. Claus’ tin was an old silver one, so I added flowers cut out from a rub-on package to bring a touch of color and cheerfulness to her appearance. Because it is cold in the North Pole, I sewed her a cozy cape out of plaid flannel to keep her warm during the chilly winters spent with Santa and the elves. Santa is made out of a vintage Velvet tobacco tin because we all know that Santa smokes a pipe; at least, that is how the story goes. I also added a plaid scarf for him, which complements Mrs. Claus’ outfit beautifully, and a vintage milk cap because Santa loves milk with his cookies, after delivering presents to all children around the world.

These are for sale. I am asking $100 for the couple, as I would like to keep them together for the best presentation. There are many hours dedicated to crafting these from sculpting their heads and appendages to painting and assembling all the intricate details that bring them to life. If you’re interested in giving these unique pieces a new home and adding a special touch to your collection, please send me a message, and I will get back to you promptly to discuss further details.
Best,
Amy
