Hello Friend. It’s Wednesday, can you believe it? Also, it is January 14th, can you imagine that, crazy. Time just keeps flying, doesn’t it? Last night, I took a moment to reflect on where the day went as I tried to figure it all out. I took Max to work early in the morning and then picked him up later since his car is in the shop. I did some laundry, finished two Bible lessons, talked to my sister on the phone for a bit, and had some lovely visitors drop by. I even painted some colorful Easter eggs that I plan to display in my booth later on, and I started working on painting some peg dolls. I was hoping to have everything finished to show you today, but I didn’t quite manage to complete them all. What I did finish were the eggs.
Do you all remember the goose phase that was in home decor in the eighties? It was a time when these charming, whimsical geese adorned our living spaces, often paired with the calming shades of country blue and mauve that defined the era’s aesthetic. Now, the beloved goose phase is back, revitalized with a modern twist, featuring porch geese dressed in adorable little outfits that change with the seasons. These delightful decorations not only add a touch of personality to yards and gardens but also evoke a sense of nostalgia among those who lived through the original trend. When I work at the antique mall, I often see many young people discovering and purchasing lots of geese to decorate their homes with, bridging the gap between past and present styles. The enthusiasm for these quirky decorations is heartening, as they bring a sense of joy and whimsy. Yesterday, I painted geese on the eggs, adding intricate details and vibrant colors, and I think people might really like them. It’s amazing to see how trends can come full circle and how something as simple as a painted egg can spark joy and conversation about the decor that once captured our hearts.

As always, I’m glad you’re here.
Best,
Amy
