Hello and Happy Monday. I hope you had the best 4th of July celebrating with friends and family, enjoying the fireworks and creating wonderful memories. I am saddened by the news of the devastating flooding in Texas that has taken so many lives. The images of the destruction are heart-wrenching, and it’s difficult to comprehend the scale of the tragedy. It’s terrible to think of all those girls at Camp Mystic who were displaced, with some not even being found yet amidst the chaos. My heart truly goes out to the families of those girls and to everyone who was camping in the area, having their lives altered in an instant due to circumstances beyond their control. It’s in these moments that we are reminded of the fragility of life and the importance of supporting one another during such challenging times, as the community comes together to heal and rebuild. John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

My niece found a thrift store with some great finds she knew I would love. So on Saturday, Mr. Handsome and I embarked on an adventure over the river and through the woods (literally) to pick out some fantastic vintage treasures for our house as well as my booth. The drive was curvy and beautiful, surrounded by lush landscapes and towering trees, and I loved the views out my passenger window. Everything is so vibrantly green this time of year. As we drove, I noticed that people have started cutting hay, and the hay bales scattered across the fields were beautiful, creating picturesque scenes that felt almost like a painting. We had such a great time meandering through the shop, exploring every nook and cranny, choosing just the right items that grabbed our attention. Then we had lunch across the street at a bar. We devoured pizza topped with fresh ingredients and indulged in fried pickles, which I usually dislike, but the fried ones were surprisingly yummy. By the time we got home, I felt a sense of satisfaction and excitement as I cleaned up my finds and priced the items I planned to sell in my booth. So today, I am going to rework my booth and add some of the new things I got, as well as refresh it with some of the items that have been sitting in my stash, creating an inviting space for shoppers to enjoy.

I hope you have the best day. As always, I’m glad you’re here.

Best,

Amy
