Hello Friend. Last week on April 30th, Mr. Handsome and I celebrated our 32-year wedding anniversary. We spent two days exploring an estate sale, along with many thrift and antique shops, over Thursday and Friday. We had an absolute blast, eating delicious meals at restaurants and driving from one location to the next, hoping to score some deals. Mr. Handsome has a passion for music, comics, and vintage toys, always on the lookout for those rare finds that bring back memories of his childhood. As for me, I am drawn to everything vintage, searching for unique pieces to fill spots in my booth. During our treasure hunt, I came across a neat shoe shine box that caught my eye; I loved the patina on it and the worn label. With the festive season approaching, I went ahead and decorated my dining room table and some other places in my home in anticipation of Memorial Day and the 4th of July, adding that new to me shoe shine box to the top of my table.

This was on my table left over from Easter.

This is on my table now. This is the new to me shoe shine box with a book I picked up on the hunt called “Mimi at Camp”. Most of you know that my greats call me Mimi, and I have the wonderful opportunity to go to camp each summer with the high school students from my church, so it was fitting. Also, in the box is the book that Mr. Handsome gave me for Christmas, “Freckles”.
Here are the other places I added a little patriotic decor to.

The pillow is from the estate sale. I decided to keep it too, as it adds a touch of warmth to my living space. Those are the only three items that I am keeping. The other items that I acquired during the hunt will show up in my booth in all different seasons.
What did you do over the weekend?
As always, I’m glad you’re here.
Best,
Amy
