Hello Friend! Happy 250th Birthday USA! What are your plans today? Are you shooting off fireworks, or are you going to watch a beautiful fireworks display light up the night sky? Or would you rather just forgo the crowds and enjoy a celebration on T.V. from the comfort of your home? My family is going to breakfast, a tradition we started to honor my father-in-law’s birthday, yes, he was a fourth of July baby. We still get together and cherish those memories, even though he has been gone for a while now. Later, we are going to my best friend’s house, where we plan to swim, eat, and shoot off an array of fireworks that will illuminate the sky.
I thought I would show you my chalkboard pantry door. I painted it with chalkboard paint that you can purchase from any hardware store. This paint has been on this door for years, and it has held up great. I use children’s sidewalk chalk and just the basic white chalk to draw on the door, allowing for vibrant colors and easy erasing. When using the white chalk, I sharpen it with a basic pencil sharpener to get a good point. Recently, I created a Fourth of July greeting that I drew on the door. I love to draw whatever comes to mind—everything from birthday greetings and holiday wishes to inspirational Bible verses and whimsical doodles. It’s like a canvas for my thoughts and a way to express myself. Do you have a chalkboard door in your house? If so, what do you write on it? I would love to hear how you use yours to brighten up your space!

I hope you have a safe and pleasant holiday.
Best,
Amy
